The W stands for Walnut. Gibson used that letter for a year or two on the labels on the Walnut finished guitars. This guitar has the dot on the i on the logo as a 1968 model would but has some 1969 features as well. The guitar is still in excellent original condition. I am in a Walnut guitar phase so stay tuned.
